This Privacy Policy explains how the SkoolBuddy for Parents mobile
application (the "App", package name com.skoolbuddyapp.parents) handles
your information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
SkoolBuddy is an independent app built and maintained by Ravi Agrawal. The App helps two parents share and track school-related deadlines for their children.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. This identifies you within the App and lets the second parent link to your shared family workspace.
2.2 Content you create
We store the deadlines, notes, and reminders you and your partner add to the App, along with the child or category they belong to. This content is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and is only visible to the two linked parent accounts in a family.
2.3 Push notification tokens
With your permission, we store a device-specific push notification token (from Firebase Cloud Messaging) so the App can send you reminders for upcoming deadlines.
2.4 Diagnostic information
Firebase may collect basic diagnostic information (such as crash reports and approximate usage events) to help us keep the App stable. This data is not sold or used for advertising.
3. How we use your information
- To let you sign in and sync data across your devices.
- To share deadlines between two linked parent accounts in your family.
- To send you reminder notifications you have opted into.
- To diagnose and fix crashes or bugs.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with the following processors that are necessary to operate the App:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics) — operated by Google LLC, used to store your data and deliver notifications. See Firebase's privacy summary.
Content you create is also visible to the other parent account linked to your family workspace.
5. Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below and we will remove your data within 30 days. You can also delete individual deadlines and notes from inside the App at any time.
6. Children's privacy
SkoolBuddy is designed for use by parents (18+). The App is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. References to "kids" inside the App refer to entries created and managed by the parents themselves.
7. Security
Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Data at rest is stored in Google Firebase, which is protected by Google's infrastructure security. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong password on your Google account.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact us at the email below to make a request.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be announced inside the App.
